Is A Pulse Rate Of 118 Lbs A Cause For Concern?

My pulse is around high 40 to low 50. Since I took Avortastatin starting a week ago, I notice my pulse now is in the mid 60 to high 60. I exercise almost 2 hours 5 days a week, treadmill and weight. I am 70 years old, 5 4 and 118lbs. Is the higher pulse rate a dangerous situation? I have been on Linoprisil for high blood pressure for a few years now and loraprezam for amnesia. Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi welcome to the health care magic

Pulse rate should be between 60 to 100...

If it is high or low from that than investigation necessary

Pulse also should be regular and without radiofemoral delay

If pulse abnormal than EKG, echo like investigation done

Take care

Consult physician or cardiologist for pulse examination and accordingly work up
