Is A Red Streak On The Arm After An Angiogram An Indication Of An Infection?
I underwent an angiogram in the Philippines about 3 weeks ago. Back in the states now. There is now pain in the right wrist from the site of the puncture up the arm about 4 inches. In addition, there is a red streak up the arm the same 4 inches. Is this an indication of an infection? I have Tuesday appointment eith a physician. Can it wait that long? Any other suggestions?

Is A Red Streak On The Arm After An Angiogram An Indication Of An Infection?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. I understand your concern and would agree with you on the fact that it could be an infection or inflammation of the vein in the arm. For this reason, I recommend consulting with your attending physician for a physical exam and some blood lab tests (complete blood count, PCR, ESR). In the meantime, I would recommend using locally cold packs and alcohol pads. Hope to have been helpful! Kind regards, Dr. Iliri
