Is A Sharp Pain Around The Wrist Post An Injury A Concern?

I hurt my wrist about 2 weeks ago, re-racking a 10lbs plate at the gym. Nothing seemed unusual, with the exception that it kinda hurt as I was putting the weight away. It hurts a fair bit (6/10 - 7/10) when I rotate my hand away from my body/neutral position, or move my pinky toward my wrist. The pain seems localised mainly to the outside of the wrist and feels like a sharp pain. It also hurts if you poke the outside of the wrist where it changes from your arm to your hand. Is this just a simple sprain that it taking a while to heal or should I get it checked out?

Hi and welcome.j
It would be good to MRI scan of the wrist to rule out some ligament or tendon injuries which may happen even if there was no fracture so you should consult you doctor about this. Wish you good health. Regards
