Is Abdominal Pain Normal After Submandable Gland Removal?
Hi, I'm 27 years old and had surgery 2 days ago to remove my submandable gland, Since getting home yesterday I have has really bad pain in stomach area ( I feel like I have someone sat on my chest!) I have to keep taking deep breaths! Is this just my body getting back to normal after pain killers etc? should I go see the doctor tomorrow?
Hi! Good morning. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.
If I were your doctor, I would not consider the pain abdomen to be related in any way to your sub-mandibular gland removal surgery. I would definitely refer you to the ER of the hospital for a clinical examination and related investigations to rule out any intra-abdominal pathology requiring early attention.
I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts. Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. Wishing you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
