Is Ablation Recommended For Periods Which Are Heavy And Prolonged?

I am 48 years old and have begun to have heavy peiods lasting 7 days +(new) every 21 to 24 days(normal for me). I change a 18 gm tampon every 2 hours and frequently bleed through. I am also anemic now. I have one ovarian cyst (2.5cm). My family history is menopause begining at 58 to 60. I have no other medical problems. I am considering ablation. What would you recommend?
