General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Prolong phase of cardiac arrest is known to induce wide level cerebral ischemia (reduced blood supply) and secondary sequences of the same. Induced ventilation via intubation through nasotracheal tube is best way of oxygenating the brain and whole body system viscera. However, your treating team of Neurosurgeon, cardiac surgeon, physician and anesthetic are best personnel to decide in this matter for the best outcome of the clinical condition of the patient.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
