Is Abortion Pill Safe Or The D & C?

Hello Doctor,
I have missed the periods and its almost 15 days, When i checked with home pregnancy kit it showed negative once and positive once, im confused but i have all the symptoms like tiredness fatigue and craving for food. how should i abort should i take a abortion pill or D&C please help..

Hello,

First thing, you should undergo one blood beta-hcg test to confirm pregnancy and ultrasound scan to know the nature of pregnancy (tubal or uterine).

Self administration of abortion pill or MTP kit is NOT recommended. You don't go for that.

The abortion procedure is associated with several risks and complications like nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramp, excessive vaginal bleeding, fainting etc. She can't control them by herself at home. Therefore, I suggest to consult with local GYNECOLOGIST or healthcare provider for safe termination.

This process can be done at home if you consult once with LOCAL DOCTOR as you have to go for follow up examination after 2 weeks to confirm that abortion process is completed. One pelvic ultrasound scan is required to check retained bits if any. Around 5% women needs D & C or suction (surgical method) to evacuate the uterine cavity.
