Is Absence Of Labia Minora Since Birth Normal?

I have a question about my vulva. Now, I know a lot of women are uncomfortable with the appearance of their labia, or are unfamiliar with the female anatomy. But my vulva looks significantly different from other women s. I have no labia minora. No, I don t mean they are very small and hard to see, I mean they are completely absent. Also, most women are able to retract their clitoral hood to able to see and wash around their clitorus. Not me. If I try to pull back my hood, it hurts. I am pretty sure it is actually attached to the clit itself, if that is anatomically or medically possible. I m sorry for such a weird question, but I m embarrassed to talk to my doctor in person about it.

Dr. Hanif warmly Welcomes you!

Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic. I have carefully worked through your case, and I can realize your health worries. Being your physician, I assure you not to worry as I will take care all of your medical concerns.

There should be no embarrassment in discussing your health issue with your physician. That's why physicians are on earth.

Just volunteer yourself for the sake of good health, go to your gynaecologist for proper evaluation. Clitoral hood adhesion and absent labia minora are both not normal anatomically. You definitely need to consult your gynaecologist for complete female anatomy evaluation so that she may guide you if there is something wrong with internal organs like uterus, cervix, vagina, ovaries, fallopian tubes and other adnexa. It is necessary to rule it out right away.

Its not only important for your reproductive health, but also to see if there is something abnormal within uterus or ovaries. Sometimes such missing anatomical structures are associated with some abnormal tissue growths inside uterus or overies and fallopian tubes. Surgical removal is needed for that to avoid them from becoming cancerous.

Hope I answered all of your health concerns . If you have further questions in future, feel free to contact me anytime. In the start of your question write my name, and I will get back to you in no time. If satisfied, please click you found it helpful.

Have a wonderful time ahead.

Best Regards!
