Is Accutane Treatment Recommended During High Cortisone Levels With Cushing S Syndrome?

I have been diagnosed with Cushing s syndrome. I turn 18 in July. I m at high cortisol level and I ve been so for the last week or so. I m breaking out uncontrollable ( it s summer and I just want to go to the beach without my whole body covered in acne) My acne is really bothering me do you think I could consider accutane for treatment during high cortisol levels?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have acnes on face which is due to hormonal changes at your age and this condition is recurrent and skin has increased sensitivity of getting infected. It could be due to blockage of skin pores. Need not to worry. You can take accutane treatment in spite of high hormonal levels. I would suggest you to drink plenty of water. Take antibiotics like minocycline, steroid ointment and you can go for chemical peeling for scars after proper prescription by dermatologist. You should visit dermatologist once and get it examined and start treatment after proper prescription. Avoid touching or pricking acne. Apply aloe vera gel at night. You can apply Meladerm cream and it is purely safe to use as this is combination of hydroquinone, Tretinoin, steroid and apply it at night time. Avoid oily, fried and spicy food articles.
