Is Acute Urinary Retention And Abdominal Pain After Taking Magnesium Citrate In An Elderly Man With Recent Opioid Use An Emergency?

80 year old male broken humorous took okyconton as the hospital was releasing was given a catherata - however after terribly constipated and visiting nurse said OK to take magnesium sitrate; which took and within a short time, very violent, cannot stop, after the laxative slowed down it is difficult to urinate, it aches and now cannot urinate - I may feel like urinating but a slight bowl movement occurs - is this dangerous to wait until an appointment at 8:00 am or should a visit be set now?
