Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is Alcohol Consumption Advisable While On Diclofenac Sodium And Temazepam?
I am taking diclofenacsodium and temazepam. Both say do not drink alcohol while taking this drug. I drink sometimes 4 or 5 beers while playing golf 3 to 4 times a week. I have been on bothe meds for about 15 years. Should I be totally off of alcohol or just not drink around the time that I put the pills in my mouth. I never have understood that. I take diclofenac at 8am and 8 pm and the temazepam around 10pm. I see no side effects except for severe abdominal cramping every week or two, but I have attributed that to greasy foods which I try to avoid but eat anyway every week or two. I am 63 years old, very active, but have to get up 3 or 4 times a night taking care of a severely (total care and transfers) handicapped female. Any ideas. 30mg temazepam.
Taking alcohol with drugs like Tamezepam may lead to adverse forms of drug interactions known as Disulfiram reaction. So it is always better to withheld alcohol while on Tamezepam.
Diclofenac does not interact with alcohol but might cause severe gastritis while taken along with alcohol.
