Is Amenorrhea And Constant Bloating Of Abdomen Due To Plan B?

Can plan b cause amenorrhea? I took 2 plan b pills in February. I received my period a week later and then a light one in March and have not had a period since. They did an ultrasound. My right ovary looks good but they could not find the left, transvaginally or trans abdominal. I have had an abnormal pap in the past (7 years ago) with atypical cells so I am hoping it s not coincidence and actually related to that. It s been awhile since I ve had my period and I am getting worried. It s also very hard for me to lose weight and I have gained 15 pounds and am constantly bloated and puffy. Help please.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI,
Thanks for the query. I understand your concern.
You had withdrawal bleeding after 8 days of plan B.. that is normal. NOrmal periods are usually delayed.. & you had one in March( though lighter...so I don't think it's due to Plan B.
Your USG does not show any significant sign ( Pregnancy, ovarian cyst, PCOD )apart from absence of ovary.. which can be absent from birth.
Your PAP smear was abnormal 7 years back.
Considering all these facts I would advise for -
- A through check up by an expert Gynecologist/ USG 3 D/ Laproscopy / USG of pituitary fossa to note for missing ovary & any other problem in pelvis,or pituitary gland.
- A complete hormone assay including ovarian, thyroid & pituitary hormones/ A repeat PAP smear
- Consultation of an endocrinologist
After all these doctors would come to some conclusion.. & offer you specific treatment.
Thanks.
I find this answer helpful
