Is An HR Of 73 For A 6 Week Old Fetus A Serious Concern?

I had a dating ultrasound one week ago and they measured my baby at 6 weeks, however I had originally believed to be about 8. The hr was low at 80. I had a repeat ultrasound a week later and the baby had only grown a bit and is 6 weeks 3 or 4 days and hr decreased to 73. I have a repeat ultrasound in 2 weeks. Is there any chance of survival? What are my chances? Is there anything I can do?

Hi,
Welcome to Healthcare magic.
I am Dr Ramadevi Wani. I appreciate your concerns.

Low heart rate below hundred at this age of pregnancy is not a good sign. The heart rate below 80 has a dismal prognosis. I am sorry, but I need to give you facts. With heart rate below 80, I am afraid there is hardly any chance for survival.
There is nothing that you can do to improve the heart rate. This did not happen because of anything that you did or did not do. So do not blame yourself.
I wish you good health and healthy baby next time.
Best wishes,
Dr Rama
