Is An MRI Scan Advisable For Persistent Pain On The Head?

Hello, my name is Connie, and I am 66 years old. All my life I have had ADHD. Learning in school never was easy for me. I never have been able to remember what I read, and find it even harder the older I get. Also, three years ago I feel in the bathtub and hit my head on the top real hard. I didn t go to the doctor, but I still feel that pain. Do you think I should have a MRI?

Hello,
Thak you for trusting HCM

History of fall followed by memory loss is concerning for possible chronic subdural hematoma. Chronic subdural hematoma can occur after a trauma due to collection of blood underneath the dura(covering of brain). Ct brain is the best initial diagnostic tool. Please be advised to follow up with your primary provider to undergo CT brain.

Hope this answers your question
Please let me know if you need further clarifications
