Is Anti-tetanus Shot Essential While Getting Hurt With Nail?

I stepped on a nail, but it didn't bleed. I doesn't look to deep too. what should I do. my friends told me that I should get a shot, but I heard stories that one patient got injected with anti tetanus and he froze and died. I got scared. what should I do?

Hi, thanks for using HCM.

Prick by a nail, you need to take TT injection as precautionary measure.
TT injection contains latex ingredient in it, which is causing allergic reaction, if person is allergic to latex. Allergic reaction is rarely seen. Tell the doctor immediately if any of these rare but very serious side effects occur: tingling of the hands/feet, hearing problems, trouble swallowing, muscle weakness, seizures.A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare.
Not to worry,I advice TT injection for my patients with this problem.
