Is Antiemetics The Ideal Treatment For Motion Sickness?

My father who is 88years old suffered a left sided stroke 5 years ago. He is left with profound left sided weakness, but is generally well in himself. He is severely troubled by car sickness. He has tried OTC medication such as stugeron, acupuncture and bands . Is it likely that prescribed anti emetic may be more effective ?
