Is Application Of Dettol And Turmeric On An Open Wound Safe?
Hello doctor ..Day before yesterday I fell on the ground while playing and got some scratches on my right arm ( under elbow)...I visited to the doctor and he dressed me on that area but now I have removed that dressing and doing treatment myself I.e applying dettol on it for cleaning and pour some haldi on it ...Just want to ask is it advisable to use such method regularly???

Keeping the wound clean with Dettol sounds good. Secondly, turmeric is a good antiseptic but nowadays, we don't know the quality of food ingredients. I suggest you start applying Soframycin or Neosporin cream twice a day for 5-6 days. Try to keep the wound open for faster healing if it is a superficial wound.
