Is Arthroscopy Beneficial In Treating Knee Pain?

I have persistent pain in my right knee for the last six months. I diagnoised gout 15 years ago with high uric acid. i started taking Zyloric tablet. Uric acid is within normal range now. Pain use to start with intense physical activity like playing cricket. I am 51 years old. Is arthoscopy helpful for me. X ray was done long ago. Doctor told me that the gap between knee bones is reduced in right knee.
