Is Baby Aspirin And Lipitor Right Medication To Prevent Stroke?

I had a possible TIA a week and a half ago. I am a 55yr old female, overall cholesterol of 168 (hdl 55, ldl 101) my doctor wants me on daily baby aspirin and 5mg lipitor to prevent possiblity of stroke. A little nervous bout side effects, would this be a safe benefits/side effects course to take?
