Is Back Pain A Symptom Of Kidney Or Bladder Infection?
I m experiencing extreme back pain that I think is the degenerative arthritis & disc disease in my lower lumbar area. My question is how can I be sure it s not a kidney or bladder infection without going to my doctor yet again. I do take a lot of medications & drink a lot of water & have no problem or pain urinating. And my urine is clear.

Is Back Pain A Symptom Of Kidney Or Bladder Infection?
Hello, Most probably it is a spine-related problems. Stone disease is unlikely as it is sharp intermittent pain and is more in the abdomen rather than back. You can simply go for an ultrasound scan to look for any stones in the kidneys or bladder. A urine analysis can also be done to rule out infection. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
