Hi There

Bendroflumethiazide is basically a thiazide diuretic. In one prospective study done in 34 patients who took this med regularly for a period of 14 yrs revealed a increase an increase in fasting blood glucose levels. But the good thing is after withdraw of this drug for few months resulted in reduction of glucose levels.

So yes it could be the reason of your increased blood sugar levels. You can discuss with your treating doctor for switching to some other anti hypertensive medicine. Don't worry it will settle down.

Wish you Good Health
