Is Betnovate Contraindicated For Acne?

My family doctor recommended me to use betnovate gm cream for acne it made my acne go really quickly and the scars also vanished to a certain extent but when I stoped using it I got the acne back. I read it online that betnovate gm should not be used for acne. Is that true?

Hello,
Welcome to healthcare magic,
Yes Betnovate GM should not be used for acne. It is a topical steroid associated with a lot of side effects. Long term use can cause photosensitivity, thinning of skin, hair growth, pimples and Rosacea. Please stop Betnovate GM immediately and consult a dermatologist for controlling Acne.
Hope this helped,
Take care.
