Is Bilateral Knee Pain While Running A Cause For Concern?

I have had a slow weight loss from 124 lbs to 116-118 over a period of 5 yrs. I eat well and continue to exercise. I have bilateral knee pain I think from running but they also look like they are atrophying. My upper body is normal and I have good solid biceps from working out. My gluteal area no matter how much I lift weights will not come back. I am only 43? I lift weights 3 times a week and bike ride over ten miles every weekend? I am concerned.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I would suggest X-rays of knees/blood tests to exclude arthritis/low calcium, vitamin D levels.

Regular moderate exercises needed till the pain gets reduced, calcium & vitamin D supplements as per need would help.

Consult orthopedic doctor for a suitable dose of vitamins.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
