Is Bleach And CLR Inhalation During Pregnancy A Cause For Concern?

My girlfriend is 18 weeks pregnant and she acidentally mixed bleach and CLR. He inhaled a lot of it in before running out of the room and was coughing really bad. And she ended up throwing up. This happened about 20 min. Ago when I went to clean it up it was really hard to breathe in the room even when holding my breath. And my eyes got really watery should we go to the emergency room or anything like that. I m really concerned for my girlfriend and my baby please answer as soon as possible

Hello,

Nothing much to worry as she has already passed the stage of organigenesis. If she experiences any dizziness or decreased fetal movements, medical attention must be sought.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
