Hello
Thanks for your health query.
If you had a proper period AFTER having unprotected sex, then you are not pregnant.
If you have not had a proper period after the act, then chances of
pregnancy remain.
Any kind of abnormal bleeding or spotting could indicate a
miscarriage or an ectopic pregnancy.
You should take a pregnancy test 3 weeks after the act of unprotected sex to ensure that there is no pregnancy or a related complication.
In future, always have protected sex.
That will ensure that no pregnancy results, and also , protect you against sexually transmitted diseases.
Also, mild spotting might be due to stress, anxiety, weight gain or
weight loss, ingestion of hormonal medication etc.
It might be due to thyroid hormone imbalances,
polycystic ovarian syndrome,
endometrial hyperplasia etc.
If the spotting or bleeding midcycle recurs, please have a gynecological evaluation to rule out such conditions.
All the best.
Take care.
