hello,
In the current scenario, you have to wait until two weeks after the process to confirm completion of the abortion and repeat the trans-vaginal sonogram. When pieces of conception are shed, they look like pieces of meat to the naked eye while a blood clot does not appear so. A histopathological examination of the shed material will help to sort out the issue. Also, with retained products, the discharge may be prolonged and give foul smell if infection supervenes. Please continue medication and maintain proper genital hygiene. Hope this helps.
