Is Bleeding For Short Time After Taking Misoprostol Normal?

Hello doctor My wife has pregancy of 15 days .My wife took first Mifepristone tablet on.19.8.2014 and Misoprostol on 20th Aug..After taking Misoprostol tablet bleeding is started but after some time bleeding get stop.I am very worried about this.please help me now what should I do

Understand your concern
Medical abortion should be done under the proper guidance and supervision of gynecologist. Mifepriston 200 mg should be followed by misoprostol 400 ug vaginally /orally after 48 hour under the supervision of gynecologist, additional dose 400 ug should be followed by 4 hour if needed. Bleeding will start in 1-2 hour after taking last pill. Bleeding will depend on the age of pregnancy. You had just 15 days of pregnancy that is the reason of the bleeding for short time. Minor bleeding will be there for 4-7 days. You should check for retain product/bit by USG scan after 14 days. Do not worry. Bleeding is started means abortion process is started. If you feels fever, excessive bleeding, and pain , immediately contact to gynecologist.
