Is Bleeding From A Heat Rash In The Groin Area A Matter Of Concern?

Hello, I have been moving over the last 2 weeks and developed a heat rash in my inguinal area. I m all Iittle on the large side and have had this issue before. Usually I avoid a lot of walking outdoors for a couple of days and it goes away. This time I couldn t rest because I had to keep packing. I may have overdone it, to the point of some bleeding and a small not has formed under the skin, I have been using a diaper rash ointment with 40% zinc oxide, which helps with the stinging, but my wife is worried so here I am.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,

You seem to have intertrigo which is inflammation of opposing body folds. Moisture/ sweat, warmth and friction/ rubbing from walking have a role to play. Superimposed Candida infection usually happens and causes the area to become more red and inflamed. I suggest you to use an absorbant/antifungal dusting powder, 2-3 times a day for a few days. I think this should be enough to take care of your skin problem.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
