Is Bleeding From The Tongue A Concern For A Diabetic With Low Platelets?
My husband has a history of low platelet levels. He is now having some bleeding from his tongue. It was dark and clotty at first but has now subsided. He sees a hematologist for the low platelets & his next appointment is March 20. Should we be concerned about this? And shouldn t he go to the ER to have his platelets checked? he is also diabetic.
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
This bleeding probably happens due to low thrombocyte count and there is no reason to be worrie. there may have been bite or injury of the tongue and it should stop soon so I dont thin there is a need to see ER urgently. He can visit hematologist regularly and have blood work done. Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
Wishing you good health.
