Is Bleeding Normal After Sex?

Can you tell me please if it is normal to bleed when having sex. I am a 48 year old woman. When we have sex, my partner says he can feel something 'snap' inside me, like a membrane, it is usually when I orgasim. I lose quite a bit of bright red blood but then it stops. It is not painful.

Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
It is not normal to bleed after sex. You need to do a speculum examination by a doctor as well cervical smear examination at a pathology lab.

hi welcome to health care magic.I understand your concern.
as per your history bleeding after sex is not normal.usually we define it as postcoital bleeding which happens when there is abnormality in cervix .as per my opinion you should get a gynaecological examination and pap smear done this will rule out any cervical problem /cancer .this passage of bright red blood should not be avoided .
