Is Blockage Of Eustation Tube A Possible Cause For Leakage Sensation Inside The Middle Ear?

Hi,

I feel like some liquid is dripping in my ear, but everytime I check my ear, it is dry. So, it feels like the dripping is occuring behind the ear drum. My research suggests I may have ETD (blockage of eustation tube). Is that a possible cause for leakage sensation inside the middle ear?

Hello

Yes it is possible that the sensation is due to a block in your eustachian tube, there can be many reasons for this including an allergy and i would like you to meet your ent doctor for further examination to find out the cause for this.
Meanwhile you can start steam inhalation 3-4 times a day, it will help
Thanks

Hi, ET blockage can cause fluid to accumulate in the middle ear, but that leakage of fluid is not perceived by the patient.
Fluid accumulation in middle ear cause blocked ears, reduced hearing butyou cannot perceive the fluid flowing out until and unless u have a hole in the ear drum.
I suggest u to consult doctor and get your ear examined properly.
If there is no hole ten dont worry, doctor will give u some decongestant to open up the tube and teach u some valsalva exercises.
