Is Blood Clot In Ear Canal A Cause For Concern?

I was told I have a blood clot in my ear canal, what would cause that & is it dangerous? The ear Dr. I m seeing gave me ear drops and wants to see me in 2 weeks. I m a little worried that it s a symptom of something worse. By the way, I have lymphoma & Thalassemia. I m sorry, but my credit card is maxed out. I can t pay anything at this time.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Was there any symptoms like pain or blood discharge? Any history of trauma or ear buds insertion? Usually this follows injury during ear cleaning. Anyhow, let us wait for the time being; if this recurs without a particular reason, we can evaluate further. Lymphoma or thalassemia is usually not a cause.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
