I am 5 weeks pregnant and when I go to the bathroom (number 2) there is blood in my stool. I have no pain or anything, I don t feel sick after. Just wondering is its something I should be worried about, I do have a prenatal appointment on Tuesday will I be okay till then? Is my baby okay? Am I okay? this is my first pregnancy so I m some what freaking out!
Hi , thank you for using health care magic. I can understand your concern. Blood in stool not normal but at the same time it should be most probably from anal region. Many time due to constipation and resulting straining some blood vessels in anal region may break out and result in blood in stool. So you need to be relaxed as it is not associated with your uterus/fetus. Drink plenty of water , do not strain while passing stool and you will be fine. On prenatal visit whether you are fine or not discuss with your doctor as local examination of anal canal will be needed for blood in stool. Hope this will help you. Regards.
