Hello,
It is my pleasure to help you,
I had gone through your history and understand your concern.
No blood test can detect rabies virus in the blood. But the antibody against rabies antigen can be detected in the blood by a test called Rapid Fluorescent Focus Inhibition Test (RFFIT).
It is of no use because once the antibodies appears in the blood it is suggesting that the person has developed the rabies disease.
Rabies is 100% fatal, once it affects the CNS and antibody appears in blood you cannot save the patient.
But it is 100% preventable if you take Anti rabies vaccine and rabies immunoglobulin as advised by your doctor.
Fever what you are having may be due to secondary bacterial infection following dog bite.
Hope your doubts are cleared. Feel free to ask any query regarding this.
Thank you.
