Hey! I am breastfeeding my 9 months old daughter and just found out that I am 2 months pregnant with my second. My daughter is a picky baby towards solids and she is on breast feed majorly.I am freaking out about the fact that what if my milk will harm my nursling? what if she gets malnourished? I am taking Duphaston as perceived by my OB ( the leaflet of the medicine suggests not to take it while lactation). She is suggesting that I should completely wean my baby off as the milk is harmful for her now because of the hormonal changes. Plz guide me. I am in much worry.Hope to get a reply from you soon. Regards
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
I have evaluated your query thoroughly, as your child is 9 month old so she can take outside food. So, I suggest you to stop breastfeeding now. It will be helpful for you and your both children. If you continue then you unborn child will get less nutrition and she can become malnutrition.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel
