Is Breathing Air In And Out Of Ear With Ringing Noise In Ear After Being Punched In Ear Normal?

Hey I got punched in the ear and now I can breathe air in and out of my ear. It feels as if it needs to pop, but it won t. It also has had an on going ringing noise and it sounds a bit quieter through this ear. This happened on Friday and today is Wednesday. Will this heal or should I go to a doctor?

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have breathing air in and out of ear with ringing noise in ear after being punched in ear . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like ETD( eustachian tube dysfunction ) , pulsating tinnitus or rupture ear drum . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order throat swab test , viral culture test , examination of ear with otoscope . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics along with decongestant . sedatives and expectorant . Doctor may also recommend tympanoplasty . For now apply dry warm compresses to external ear .
