Is Brown And Red Mucus Vagina Discharge After Bleeding Post C-section And Tubal Ligation Normal?

I had a c-section, tubal, and also had old blood cleaned from a previously ruptured ovarian cyst 2 months ago. I had bleeding and a reddish/brown mucousy discharge for 6 weeks up until I got my period at 6 weeks. It was fairly heavy and lasted about 8-9 days and then the brownish/reddish mucousy discharge has returned after my period stopped. I had placenta previa, which is the reason for the c-section. Just curious if this is normal? No fever. No foul smell. No pain. Just won’t completely go away. I also have endometriosis if that makes a difference.

Hello,

After childbirth by C-section vaginal discharge called lochia comes out, it consists of mucus, blood, uterine tissue, etc., from the uterus. It can last for several weeks even after C-section. Some people have traces of lochia for up to eight weeks. A typical period lasts about one week. Lochia lasts for several weeks in most people. You have endometriosis.

Get it treated at the earliest as neglect may cause complications like pelvic pain that interferes with daily activities. It leads to fertility problems, large cysts, anemia, painful periods, lower back pain, weakness or cancer. You will be given conservative treatment or may be recommended surgery.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
