Is Brown Colored Vaginal Spotting Post Menstruation Due To Deviry Pill?

I took deviry to bring my menses. After taking two tabs for two days i got my periods. My periods usually lasts for 7 days. 8 days from when my period ended, I noticed light, brown coloured spotting. The next day it was a bit more than just spotting but not as much as the period flow. Is this happening due to deviry or some other reasons are responsible for this? And also, I have PCOD.

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

Medroxyprogesterone acetate is used for dysfunctional bleeding and contraception. Sometimes, your period can start or end with a few days of brown discharge.

This is perfectly normal and nothing to be concerned about. Other possibilities like infection or polyps or dub, etcetera. Please consult your gynecologist, she will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
