Is Bruised, Painful Shin After Hard Kicking Normal?

I was playing around with my friends and kicked one of then very hard. I instantly felt huge breath taking pain in my right leg and my muscles in the sides and back of my shin are very tight. I have a 3-4 in brusie on the front of my shin. Its been a couple hours and I still can't put pressure down on it at all. What's wrong??
