Is Burning Sensation During Urination Due To Prostate Cancer?

I am 52 male, My name is Dan, I have had difficulty urinating for about 4 days with burning. I have a fever, and urine looks normal. I have had one hernia operation and the area is not normal though not sticking out to much. What do you think this might be? Should I be concerned about prostate cancer? I will be seeing my doctor tomorrow,

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Burning during urination is commonly a symptom of infection (E.Coli/UTI/ acute or chronic bacterial prostatitis).

Prostatitis (inflammation of the prostate gland) associated with burning, stinging, pain, fever or chills during urination.

It can be treated with medicines or surgery depending on the severity of the pathology detected.

If you are not having blood in the urine or seminal fluid, weak or interrupted urine flow, strain to empty bladder, unexplained weight loss, swelling in the legs or feet then it should not be prostrate cancer.

However, visit your treating doctor at the earliest. Get treated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
