Is Burning Sensation In The Mouth Associated With Fibromyalgia?
I have all the symptoms of fibromyalgia. My doctor has done lots of blood tests and everything has come back normal so he is referring me to a Rheumatologist. For the past 24 hours I have had a tingling/burning sensation in my tongue and I'm wondering if this could be connected to fibro?

Is Burning Sensation In The Mouth Associated With Fibromyalgia?
Hi.. Thanks for the query.. Burning sensation in mouth can be due to inflammation and redness in mouth that can be associated with Fibromyalgia while it can also be due to other common causes like nutritional deficiency of iron and vitamin B12, dry mouth or xerostomia, oral thrush, stress, acid reflux, side effects of medicines etc.. I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical examination and investigations like blood tests can be advised.. Treatment of underlying cause will resolve the symptoms.. As of now to get relieved you can start gargling with a numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine.. Take anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen.. Avoid spicy foods and take a soft bland diet.. Suck ice pops.. Hope this helps.. Regards..
