Is Burning Sensation With Tenderness In Collarbone After Being Hit A Cause For Concern?

I recently was slapped across collarbone by accident, it is now having a burn sensation..tender to touch..a little bit of pain when I lift up the arm..however no bump or bruising. Should I go to Dr I m not sure if it would be broken or just hurting. This incident happened over a day ago. Thanks

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the burning sensation with tenderness in absence of bump or bruise may be indicative of
- Ligament sprain
- Subcutaneous tissue insult via compression
- Minor crack clavicle
My guidelines at present:
- Local application of ice
- Use diclofenac with linseed oil spray or ointment for local care via gentle massage
- Anti inflammatory medicine in form of diclofenac with serratiopeptidase with antacid after meals if no history of drug sensitivity
Consult online after 24 hours of above or early as per the need.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
