Is Bypass Surgery Advisable For A Person With Kidney Disease?

Lost one kidney to stenosis of renal artery. Other kidney stented 9 years ago, clogged and resented 8 months ago. CT shows narrowing already. is it time to consider bypass, kidney is ok, bloodflow is the issue. A healthy lifestyle saved me in some ways but did not get around a specific cholesterol gene, not found until 2007, heart stent still ok, cholesterol very low now.

Thanks for asking at Healthcare magic. I read your question and I understand your concern.
Single kidney even with no renal insufficiency needs surgical intervention.
1. stenosis is more than 80 percent
2. stenosis is 50-80 percent but captropil scintigraphy shows intra renal hypertension
Surgical bypass is preferred procedure as the mortality rate is same in both procedures however the fall in serum creatinine, patency of renal artery and BP control is best than angioplasty.
