Is Bypass Surgery Required If Suffering From Frequent TIAs?

My husband had a n mi in May . Angio was done but did not stent as planned as they said he would need a bypass. Had a stroke 1 hr post angio. Now we are told by another cardiologist that the risks outweigh the benefits so no bypass? Keeps having TIAs which neurology says is from the heart and it needs to be fixed. Cardiology says they are not being caused by the heart. Feeling confused!

hi welcome to hcm
TIA s are from infarcts in the brain..get an MRI BRAIN to confirm the diagnosis.if he has infarcts in carotid artery carotid stenting is advised.anti platelet drugs like clopitab-A will help.As far as his heart is concerned he needs CABG as otherwise it may lead to sudden cardiac arrest.discuss with both neurologist and cardiologist for further management.
thankyou
