Is Calcium Tablet Intake Better Than Eating Calcium-rich Food For Increasing Calcium Levels?

Some say calcium tablets are just ground up rock which is hard to assimilate. Others say the best way to get calcium is with food since ordinary calcium tablets can cause kidney stones. My MD is having me take Alendronate once a week plus two Caltrate tablets every day plus 400 mg of D3. I m confused as to which is best

You can continue calcium tablets.
