Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Or Peripheral Neuropathy A Cause For Limb Numbness?
I was sitting on a chair today with my left arm lying on the arm rest. When I tried to stand up by pushing on the the chair arms with both hands, I suddenly realized that I couldn t move my left arm. It just laid there totally lifeless. I looked at it and tried to tell it to move, but got no response. So, I pushed myself up with my right arm. Once I was up, the feeling in my left arm returned. What could have caused the loss of control in that arm? I have carpal tunnel and peripheral neuropathy. Would those problems have had something to do with it?
* The transient limb numbness is surely due to peripheral nerve compression ( radial and ulnar in this case ) due to certain postural pressure with added effect of carpel tunnel issue.
Hope I have answered your query.
