am a medical student and I have a homework about diabetes mellitus and I have problem about this question
why the central obesity is more risky to get DM than generalize obesity?
and I cannot get the answer in my books

Hi Junior....
Well as far as diabetes is concerned central obesity is more of a risk. When the adipose tissue increase the insulin resistance goes up and when the insulin resistance goes up your pancreas have to secrete more. When the beta cells are failing this oversecretion to meet body's demands becomes difficult. Finally end up in Diabetes...
