Is Cervical Spondylosis A Crippling Disease In The Future?

My Dr. just now informed me that I have 2 disc in my lower neck are practically gone...I have had paid for over 4 years but within the last 3 weeks pain has been almost unbearable...MRI showed arthritis, bone spurs and the 5 and 6 disc almost gone....Is this a future crippling disease?
