Is Cetapin-xr Safe For Diabetes?
hi! i am 40 yrs female, mother of 2 kids, having hypothyroid since last 6 yrs ,on eltroxin 100mcg , 1.5 tab daily,having high blood sugar since last 4 months ,suggested to take cetapin xr 1 g of dosage 1.5 daily,mother is diabetic, my ht is 173 cm, wt is 75 kgs please sugest if i can start the medicine cetapin-xr now . what are the side effects of this medicine? my blood test showed fasting 186mg/dl and pp blood sugar 278 mg/dl . Can i do some walking and dieting and wait and check then start the medicine??

Dear madam i can understand your concern.
i am very sorry about your condition
i my opinion your can try doing exercise and diet for 2 months,if life style changes fail to reduce your blood sugar then i suggest you to start taking medication.
the medication what you mentioned is called metformin. This is a very good medication which is extracted from plant called french lilac.
besides Diabetes this medication decreases weight,decrease your cholesterol,decrease stress on liver
latest research is telling that even it protects against cancer.
it is very safe medication but mild gastritis in some individuals.
