Is Changing Dosage Timing Of Amitriptyline A Cause For Concern?

I have been prescribed amitriptyline 50 mg at bedtime only to help with vestibular migraines. I normally take the medicine at 12 midnight but fell asleep before taking it. Is it still OK to take the medicine at 0500 am or should I wait until tomorrow night to take it?

Hello,

Yes, you should not take Amitriptyline at 5 am in the morning.
Better take just before going to the bed at night.
This will give you the best results in migraine symptoms prevention.

So better to place a reminder in your phone and take this tablet just before going to sleep. If you misses dose, take next dose on next night but not at 5 am.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
